Organic Chemistry?

Being a ChemE major, what are your opinions on skipping the general chemistry sequence due to AP credit and taking organic chemistry in the first semester?

Depends on the school and the program. Even if they award you chemistry, I wouldn't take orgo right away as it's a work intensive course and you should get acclimated to college with typical freshman courses.

^ Agreed. OChem is time consuming.

ochem for chemE's will get you owned unless you are very strong in chemistry and mechanisms.

well if you're considering chemE, shouldn't you be strong in chemistry?

^ yeah, but a HSer that's "strong" in chemistry could mean any number of things. chemE in general owns people (including the chem engineers), but I think was jmilton is saying is that it'll require an especial (unprecedented) knack for it.
