organic farm undeceiving

The Dartmouth Organic Farm has the opportunity to present itself with its traditional face (maybe perk itself up) now that eco-activism is hot. As an undergrad (Class of 2000), I was involved in so-called ‘liberal’ groups, but I was never actively involved in any environmental groups. While I never got involved in the Organic Farm, I befriended some of its members.

As a child, I was actively involved in the Rainforest Action Network (RAN), and as an adult, I am interested in polar bear conservation.

I am from India, so organic or ‘natural’ living is considered spiritual. However, Indians/Hindus live naturally as a way of life, so it is considered practical and not philosophical. We have organic medicine, herbal medicine, and many hand-made goods made from organic materials.

I’m a born-again Christian (since 2002), and in many ways this lifestyle melds well with my upbringing in India (and the USA). Did you know that organic soy milk is good for men’s prostate health?

I’ll be looking forward to news of Organic Farm events at the next Dartmouth College Homecoming.

Go BIG GREEN!!
