Orientation friends

so from you people with expereince, do you usually keep in contact with friends from orietation or is it likely u wont see them?

I stayed in contact for a couple months…
but after that we didn’t really stay in touch. I’m a rising sophomore, by the way.

Of course, it probably also depends on the size of your college. I go to UConn, where there are like 16000 undergrads; at a smaller school, it could be easier to keep contact, and perhaps it might even be inevitable.

they aren’t friends, they are acquaintances. You’ll make lots of acquaintances in college on your way to building a set of friends. So meeting someone in orientation doesn’t mean they won’t become friends or that they will, it means you can’t generalize about where your friends are going to come from. The smart student puts his/her faith in a broad-based attempt to meet people – on their dorm floor, in class & discussion section, in clubs, in sports, even striking up conversations with the person sitting by you in the cafeteria.
