orientation sign up

theres a circle button on your myucla page

what exactly is early arrival? and what is the point haha

last year myUCLA had AP scores up before orientation 101

early arrival is when you coming from out of state or something and it is hard to fly 3 in the morning so you fly to LA the night before

read the brochure. it’s not exactly what kick53 says.

on the brochure it said:“students coming from outside of the Los Angeles area who wish to check-in at Rieber Terrace the night before their Orientation session must check the appropriate box on the reservation form and will be charged an additional $50 fee. If you do not arrive for your scheduled early arrival time, you still will be billed unless you have contacted our office to notify us that you will not be arriving early”
which means pretty much you check in the night before and stay for the night… which I said in my previous post so i don’t know why he said it is not exactly what I said before…

you guys are staying in Rieber Terrace for orientation??

I believe so, thats what they said on the packet at least…
since I already posted I might as well ask a question of my own: it said on the packet the parking is $8 dollars a day right? does this mean we can drive to UCLA ourselves and park there for 3 days? and can we pay all 3 days at once so we don’t have to worry about forgetting to pay or anything?

So I’m guessing you should sign up for early arrival if you’re coming out-of-state… but what if you’re coming from Norcal?

I did the early arrival coming from norcal. I’m flying for the convenience, and coming in that morning would have meant a drive.

I opted to pay the 50 bucks to UCLA instead of paying them in gas, and now I don’t have to worry about getting up at 3am and looking like crap all day.

The university will receive your AP scores before you get them by mail (or at least that’s what happened my year, the year before I was admitted, and the year after I was admitted, and I haven’t followed it since).

The earlier the orientation session, the wider the options you will have in terms of course choices (ideally you want the very first session, since they will cap enrollment at some point and won’t open it until a later orientation session to try to give people who sign up later a chance to enroll, but by the time they open it back up, the people at orientation are waiting in line to sign up while those who have already attended orientation can sign up ASAP from their home).

well they said not from LA area which probably meant that if its not driving distance then you should do early arrival?

I signed up for the 101 earlier, and forgot to check the “partial fee waiver” box. I don’t see any way of going back to change this. Any one got any bright ideas??? Seems like the only option right now is to call them and tell them.

Last week on June. The buzz should be on CC when this time arrives. I believe UCLA is one of the ONLY school that displays APs scores earlier than the mail date.

Some people who did not know actually called for their scores. Kind of sad.

Tell me via email or call them. They will verify your status as they would for the other students.

Sounds like Rieber Terrace for this year’s orientation … interesting … since it wouldn’t sound logical to have early arrivals move after one ngiht’s stay …

I just read that from the orientation website:

" Hepatitis B Immunity
California state law requires that students 18 years of age or younger provide proof of immunity to the Hepatitis B virus prior to enrollment. Students must enter their compliance information online from the following website: www.studenthealth.ucla.edu (choose the On-Line Services menu option, then the Hepatitis B page). Do NOT send paper proof of immunity. Compliance will NOT be complete unless the information is online. The UCLA Student ID # and URSA Security Code are required for access. If immunized against Hepatitis B, or if you have proof of antibodies in your system, you will also need the name, address and phone of the clinician or clinic with proof of this, and the dates of the vaccinations."

Do I need to do a blood test or something?

isnt the hep b immunity a series of shots? ucla had it on its list of things to do a month or so back so you might want to get started or you also might have already done it and just not remembered it, which is what happened to me

@r30028,

Where can we check UCLA to-do list? I’ve never seen this thing on any documents UCLA sent me.

202 isn’t full…I just switched into it this morning on the phone. You should call if you really want the 13th but you have to pay $10 since you already signed up for another session.

And since you’re a transfer too, I’m assuming you’re at least 19 or will be before fall? Cuz if you are, then you don’t need to do the Hep B shot. You can waive it online, I already did since I’m 19.

http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/NewBruins/NSG_Freshmen.htm</a></p>

is where i’ve been looking for dates and checking what i have to do to prepare

Thanks pppeachykeen,

July 6 is fine for me. I’ll send them my final transcript before July anyway. I already booked the air ticket and motel.

I’m 20 …Cool I’ll try to waive it online :)
