I was curious, after looking over the 2004 itinerary last week, i wondered if there’s a lot of free time to get dorm stuff. how mandatory are all the events? what quality is to be expected?

i think only a few of the things were actually mandatory (i remember some talk about fire saftey was), but other than that, you don’t have to go. i

there is a ton of free time. I think only opening excercises and the fire safety talks were mandatory. The sex on a saturday night show is funny, and tiger night is awesome, if you dont want to go let me borrow your prox to get in. But even besides that theres a lot of free time to hang out and meet people

wait, isn’t opening excercises a religious thing?

I don’t think so…Isn’t it just a big welcome from the administration?

its held in the chapel, but its not really religious, if at all

Opening Exercises is not religious at all. And it’s kinda fun. Then again, I say that as one of the orange and black choir people dancing down the aisle to the samba music and flying silk kites, so of course it’s fun. Anything that involves academic regalia is fun, in a Harry Potterish kind of way.

Opening Exercises is the only time your whole class will be together in one room until Class Day, when you are seniors, if I remember correctly. It’s in the chapel, which is more like a cathedral, literally awesome.

Actually Baccalaureate, which is the day before Class Day and also in the Chapel, but yeah – basically.
