I am am a transfer student, going to university for the first time as a Junior. What can I expect in student orientation. Should I bring my parents, or would it be more fun to go on my own?
I am really excited to go out to university and am planning my trip for orientation, and just wanted to know what to expect, Thanks!!
Your parents are likely quite welcome. Search for “orientation” at your college and you’ll find more detailed information so you can decide if you want your parents there or not. Most of the time, the orientation program consists of events or both parents and students (at least for the first day). They may be just as excited as you are!
Good luck!

Sometimes the agenda isn’t out for this year but if you google Orientation/school xyz/2016, you may find all the info on last year somewhere, these programs are the same every year. Their goal is to get you excited to go to this school, making you comfortable getting around, feeling like you are part of the school’s family, setting up your first classes, info on organizations. They are usually fun events - enjoy!
