Orientation

When does registration for orientation open up? I’d like to make it to the first one.

i believe its june 1st

[UCLA Orientation Program](http://orientation.ucla.edu/firstyearstudents.htm)

Last year the first orientation session filled up within half an hour of the start of registration. Definitely grab it if you don’t have any other plans; enrollment in classes will be quite easy :)

The second orientation was also closed in half an hour, though that is partially because it’s filled with athletes.

Um… does anyone know if I’d still be able to get my classes if I go to a later date in August. I’m taking summer classes at my local community college, so I won’t be able to make it in July. Do you think my Regents Scholarship would allow me to still be able to get the classes I want?

yes as a regent u have priority pass…u will be the first to register, maybe even before the first orientation group…familiarize urself with the process of registering for classes…its done on URSA…you can definetley get ur classes on time…enjoy priority enrollment (its a good thing to have)

@mnop444: you sure Regents have priority? Might wanna double check on that one…

Nah, mnop doesn’t mind being wrong.

Regents gets priority reistration but it starts 2nd quarter according to the booklet they sent out.

Well this sucks. Does anyone know if we can skip the first two days of orientation and just come on the last to sign up for classes? What kind of classes usually fills up the fastest? Has anyone gone to a later date but still managed to get the classes that they wanted?

You don’t have to go to Orientation. I think if you skip it (obviously telling them in advance that you can’t make any of the sessions) then you get a mid-July enrollment date.

But whether the August sessions are good enough to get classes you want depends on your major.

Anyone know how quickly Math 31B and Chem 20A fill up?

Really? A mid-July enrollment date? Is there a site that I can read this up anywhere? Do I just call up UCLA and tell them I can’t go or is there a specific department I have to call? I read the other threads on CollegeConfidential and someone said that you can apply early through URSA. Is this still true for an incoming freshman or do I really have to wait second quarter for my priority enrollment?
