Orthopaedic surgeon salaries

<p>I’ve been getting conflicting numbers on this…payscale says the median salary for an orthopedic surgeon is ~300K (albeit based on a small sample size), but I saw a CNN link that says it’s ~400K. Assuming we’re talking about private practices here and barring any sweeping change in national healthcare policy, which one sounds closer to the truth?</p>

<p>Generally in private practice an orthopod will probably get paid more towards the higher end. However, remember that you have to pay malpractice, staffing, and what not. </p>

<p>Here is another website you can look but reimbursement is decreasing for doctors all across the board. I think I remember reading that there will be a 10% reduction just this year alone.</p>
