I’m downloading OS X Lion right now, but will go to sleep soon, and it still has a lot left to download (it’s only about 2 GB done of 3.74 GB). Should I let it continue through the night, or hit pause and continue in the morning? Will hitting pause ruin it?

Let it keep DLing over night. That’s the perfect time to do it anyway. When u wake up, ull have a lion installer application in your dock. make a few backups of ur important stuff just to be safe and then go ahead and install it. Should be a really straightforward and easy installer. Have fun, it’s supposed to be really amazing from what I’m hearing.

So it won’t come up with some installer where it only gives you a few minutes to click download when I’m not there and then it’d disappear…it’s not something like that???

Nope, it’s just downloading the installer itself. U have to start the actual application to upgrade to lion. Don’t worry about it disappearing or anything.

Ok, thanks! I just know that some downloads give a time limit, although most don’t I guess, just wanted to be sure!

how do i check the download status? all I see is the lion icon in a circle on the dock with a gauge bar looking like thing…but when I click on it, it doesn’t do anything.

You can check the download status by going into the App store, then clicking on ‘Purchased’ and there should be a download status bar.
