Guiliana has been covering up her boney shoulders, neck and chest since the GG’s. Too bad the dresses she’s been in are so awful. She’s been in two lacy frocks today. The first was really awful, high neckline, long sleeved and like she belonged on set of Little Women. The red one looks better on her and at least she doesn’t look totally emanciated in it.
@Youdon’tsay - I just finished watching Boyhood again with H, who had not seen it yet. I know it wasn’t a lot of people’s favorite, but I loved it; I think it was my favorite movie this year. I thought it was fascinating to see how these lives unfolded with the various challenges that they faced. Of course, because it was mostly shot in Texas, that part made it sentimental for me. I also went to Texas State University for my first two years of college before transferring to UT, so the cinematography appealed to me, too, perhaps more so than someone who did not have those attachments.
And I had so much appreciation for the process of making the movie, which I hope is recognized as cutting edge.
LOVED Anna Kendrick’s dress! Gorgeous color on her, and the neckline was beautiful.
Just tuned in and like the red dress on Guiliana-it does a good job of covering up her arms, which were rather frighteningly thin last time I saw her.
Here’s an article with a link to a picture of Kendrick’s dress:

It looked even better as it was shown live and she spun around.
Have company over, so won’t be able to watch live. Looking to my cc buds for the best recap or real-time posting so I can catch up what I miss!!
Marion Cotillard looks stunning. I liked Dakota Johnson’s, too. Not a fan of Laura Dern’s but I never love metallic.
Laura Dern looked lovely, but her gown looked like it would be uncomfortable.
Rosamind Pike arriving in the rain makes me wonder “don’t they have a canopy?!”
We are cold in Dallas with lots of rain which is expected to turn into freezing rain. Just praying we don’t lose power like we did last time we got ice.
At the moment, I’m enjoying a warm fire and just a smidgen of chardonnay. Beef stew is cooking in the crock pot.
^ Enjoy your fire! It was almost 40 here today - which felt spring-like after weeks of frigid temps.
I love Felicity Jones above the waist but too much dress from the waist down.
Okay, Rosamund Pike’s dress was beautiful. Hard to believe she had a baby semi recently.
ETA: she gave birth on Dec. 2.
^ gorgeous.
Lupita looks beautiful, too.
Such a shame it’s raining.
I looked at the radar and it really shouldn’t be lasting that long.
teri, I’m a Texan, too, and knew several places in the movie and people in it, as well, (my ds2 went to school with the teen love interest, for instance) so I know that I am biased toward loving it. But I like what Ethan Hawke said in an interview, “If you don’t get this movie, I don’t think I can like you.”
Thought Lupita looked jaw-droppingly stunning. Loved Julianne Moore’s dress, too. Cate Blanchett looked amazing, as usual, too, although her gown was not necessarily my favorite.
Hated Gwyneth’s dress!
They said Lupita’s dress had over 6,000 pearls on it. I can’t even imagine how much that must weigh!
I missed Gwyneth, but so far my favorite look is Cate B. The fashionistas don’t like the big turquoise necklace, but I do. Julianne’s dress is too fussy, for me. I’m just a plain person, without much taste.
I loved the idea of Cate Blanchett having a signature necklace, but I thought the turquoise was too casual. Something sparkly blue or any other color, yes.
LOVED Reese Witherspoon. Simple and elegant.
Just back. Anyone have photos?
