Trying to decide between both schools coming from Los Angeles. Emphasis in real estate. Ethnicitg half Asian
Any insight on culture? Definitely wants to join a frat and wants school spirit.
Well you are two for two.
TCU has 71 of 2488 in its first year class as Asian- so a very small population (if that’s a concern).
OSU is 946 of 8,080 - so a much higher percentage.
My assumption is the curriculums are different too. Neely has a finance major with real estate concentration whereas OSU has Real Estate and Urban Analysis.
Check the course work to see what suits them better.
Then there’s cost, location, weather and other things.
There’s not a bad choice but there’s likely a better choice for the student.
Which do they prefer?
If he is not in a scholars program, he should consider applying to a living learning community. Most real estate is governed by local zoning and influenced by public policies. So perhaps the John Glenn Civic Leadership program would be a good fit or maybe consider Global Business.

OSU is a big school, but it can also be thought of like several adjacent colleges. The main campus area where undergraduates study is walkable and defined. The Fisher College of Business is on the north side of campus.
Stick to fraternities that are still recognized by the university. You don’t have to be part of greek life to have a very social experience since there are plenty of other student clubs and university events to enjoy as well.

Tons of school spirit!
We didnt apply to TCU, but I can tell you we went to Fisher Friday at Ohio State and were super impressed. #14 ranked business school for undergrad and #7 in finance etc. Great internships and study abroad available…also Columbus is a great town
