I want to try out some tools for my kids applying to colleges this year
Can you please elaborate? What exactly do you want this “tool” to do?
The best my daughter got was a good old fashioned calendar (from U of Wyoming). It had great photos of the campus and it had some fall dates filled in that she needed, like scholarship deadlines or events like visit days and even ACT dates (back when they weren’t offered as often as they are now).
I forced her to fill in things as she learned about them (especially the scholarship due dates). But you guessed it, she was still completing them on the last last last day.
Some schools provide Naviance to students and families. It is a an “Online Career and College Planning Tool” and quite useful for benchmarking grades, scores, acceptances.
Reminder that links to outside college sites are not permitted per the forum rules. Generic advice only please.
This. Do you want a tool to help you figure out which schools might be good to have on the list, or are you looking for a tool to help keep track of what is due to each college when, or both? Or something else?
