Congrats!
Nothing here. Starting to think negative thoughts. My S has several other options but RIT wasn’t a reach. We’ll see. Is there anyone left on this thread that are still waiting?
I applied for ASL interpreter as well, hope I receive something too
@MSMead Still waiting here too! My S has other options as well and RIT wasn’t a reach. It’s hard not to have negative thoughts though…I hate waiting!!
actkid- what is your S’s major? Did he pick a 2nd choice? My S is Mechanical Engineering. He did not select a 2nd choice because he wants to be an ME.
We just recieved RIT’s presidential scholarship for my son in the mail. I can’t remember if the financial aid award already came before that or if we have to wait a few more weeks. It’s hard to keep track with all these notices coming in. Does anyone know if financial-aid is before scholarship, or if scholarship is before financial-aid?
@MSMead He listed majors 1. Computer Science 2. Computer Security 3. Computer Engineering
We are out of state.
@reformedman my D scholarship came first. About a week later, the complete financial aid package came.
@mommabear67 always a great help, thanks again!
I’m really excited about this with the recent news and RIT, I’m really really hoping that our financial aid will make this possible. Being from NJ, Rochester won’t be too close for comfort, nor too far for holiday pickups. NJIT just doesn’t have the reputation that I wish it did. My S loves the idea of going to NJIT but it doesn’t seem to me that it can offer enough of the college experience of socializing, sports, academic encouragement etc. I hope that RIT will be possible.
Congrats to all of the recent acceptances.
Feel free to reach out with questions, etc, now or over the summer should your kids decide to enroll.
Still haven’t received anything.
Just received the envelope!!!
Great, congrats! @asinineayo
With a $1,000 scholarship from the ASL interpreting program! Not even the school yet.
Thank you! I may end up attending.
Received the envelope today - hooray! Game Design and Development. Nothing about scholarship or financial aid, which will be so important!
Nothing here yet.
Nothing yet here either!
This is one of the only schools that sends the envelope before updating the portal. I try not to stalk the mailman. Its kind of exciting…except when you don’t get anything. Virginia Tech accepted online and then sent the packet which was like great and then oh no merit aid. Although it is cheaper than RIT.
@MSMead Unfortunately, the ME major is one of the most popular and competitive. I hear they fill almost 1/2 the slots with ED candidates.
I heard the acceptance rate is 15%. But, he thought that his 1400 SAT with 760 math and his 3.8 GPA would be a good fit. At every very school he applied to, the ME program is the most competitive. We never even thought about it when he applied because he knew what he wanted to study at a very young age.
I feel a little bad because I did a lot of research for him and built RIT up. He has 5 out of 7 acceptances so he’ll be fine. I guess he could still get in but I think it becomes less likely as time goes by.
