Can I email them with the rest of the essay? Has anyone slipped like this and still gotten in? I’m sure it will reflect badly on me as an applicant. :/

Which part?

“Tell us how you will utilize the academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences to further explore your interests, intended major, or field of study.”

Did you not answer it at all or did you write something/prepare an answer but not send it?The former is probably a bit more of a pickle than the latter.

I’m guessing it’s the first one, but did you only answer part of the essay question, or did you just flat out not write the essay?

I answered the first part (describing my interests), but left out the bit specifically about Cornell. I’m in the process of writing it, and I should be finished before the deadline, but I’m worried about how this will look. Are they used to dealing with stuff like this?

Here’s the complete prompt:
Describe your intellectual interests, their evolution, and what makes them exciting to you. Tell us how you will utilize the academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences to further explore your interests, intended major, or field of study.

I would have posted this in the Cornell forum, but I figured the question could apply to any other school with two-part prompts.

To anyone’s in the same pickle:
The admissions office’s voicemail said not to send copies of anything through email. However, applicants can turn in missing materials in February.
