<p>I don’t think I responded to the original survey, but here goes:
I first joined when my youngest child was applying to colleges (back in 2004-2005). I am the senior music director at a church, so that is where I got my name. My avatar is a photo of a dog LIKE my daughter’s dog, who is a newfie-poo (newfoundland/standard poodle mix). MY dog is also an aussie (mixed with border collie) and she is by far the smartest dog I have ever had! </p>
<p>Not so much usernames but my PIN for all my whatevers is usually based off the suffix of my relatives phone numbers which I used to dial. </p>
<p>Mine came in a fit of pique after the FA gods deemed us to be full pay, and there was no friggin’ way that could happen, and a bunch of really, really good schools had to be taken off the table for my oldest.</p>
<p>I’ve blocked the avatars so can’t comment on those, I don’t have one and never see anyone else’s.</p>
<p>When I joined I tried to use the name of my new car but someone else already had that username. S1 was a senior and had just gotten accepted to his university so I just used his college mascot name (Wolfpack) and added Mom to it.

<p>After I took the survey I went out and found a picture of an actual magnetron. I’m an EE working on some old-school stuff. I realized that the picture of the Fortnum & Mason display I had used wasn’t at all indicative of either me or my personality. </p>
<p>My dog is a beagle/terrier mix and about the most rockheaded animal I have ever known.</p>

<p>My name comes from “counting down” the last couple of years before my guys went off to college. Wish I had the talent of other CCers in coming up with something really cool! My usual avatar is my beagle/border collie, who is like a family member, but who won’t care if I post her picture. Her college fund went to medical bills after she was hit by a car. Current avatar is a Passover table runner I made a couple of years ago.</p>
<p>I joined in 2003 when DD was a high school junior, then the board changed over to a new format… I had no idea how we were going to pay for college and I was anxious about the whole process… hence Anxiousmom. Both kids long graduated from undergrad, one now in grad school after 5 years in the working world.</p>

69 is 6/9, the day of my middle school graduation (when my life began at last). Yes, it got some pretty stupid jokes on the High School Life forum. It honestly didn’t occur to me until about two weeks after I made my account.
My picture is an (unfortunately very small) screencap of the Google Maps results when you look for the route from the Shire to Mordor- “one does not simply walk into Mordor.” It made my day at the time.</p>
<p>My name is just something I could remember …my username for Ebay.I originally joined CC when my middle daughter was in the college application process. I actually learned about the acceptance emails to her first choice school right here, before she did ! I saw that decision emails had gone out, told her to take a look at her email and the rest is history

<p>My screen name is a completely random name I created many many years ago. Kinda has become my alter ego.</p>
<p>I do not own chickens. My name is from an old fantasy football team of mine (although I am no longer a spring chicken). Picture is from the school my D recently committed to.</p>
<p>I used to collect baskets - especially Longaberger ones. I still like baskets and all kinds of “containers”, including purses.

<p>I joined when D was applying to colleges (a little late – I know that now). She was going to be college Class of 2015, hence my name. My image is a pic I took while touring Furman in South Carolina with S’14. You would think that would mean he got in (he didn’t) but he’s going to an equally gorgeous location – College of Charleston.</p>
<p>I no longer remember when I joined, but my kids have now both graduated from college. My screen name is pretty self explanatory–yes, I live in HI and am a mom. :)</p>
<p>The photo was taken while vacationing in OR at Malmammoth Falls. Can’t figure out how to have it stay the correct orientation, so I just leave it as is. ;)</p>
<p>I grew up in Michigan and now live in Georgia. Even though I haven’t lived in Michigan in 30 years I still think of my old town as “home”. My avatar is my dog Buddy. </p>

<p>I joined in 2007 when baby kiddo declared that UW was just an extension of her high school (and she was sooo tired of it and ready to move on). Googled the college which D considered her top choice and found CC. For a long time I could not come up with a clever (nice) screen name to join. One afternoon when we were cleaning the lab, someone found an old Bunsen burner and was wondering if it was worth keeping. I decided that it was good enough for a screen name. </p>
