“Our Place” Sauté Pan Or Alternative?

Who has one of these or an alternative? Looking for a new pan but wasn’t planning on spending $150. But would like some feedback.

Guess it depends on your cooking style. Not really a fan of the wooden spoon nor how it rests on the handle. It’s not a spatula so not useful for frying and removing food from the pan (too thick). It’s a 10 inch pan but my favorite is usually my 12 inch pan. And it’s non-stick (don’t know how it will wear). As a saucier I’d rather use my pot. The steamer basket is interesting but if you have a frypan with deeper sides you can put an old fashioned steamer basket in it just fine (I just tried it actually).

My favorite fry pan is All Clad stainless 12 inch. But there are very similar less expensive types. I wouldn’t buy All Clad non-stick however.

This is a pretty hot commodity right now in the pan world. People seem to love them. I’d just like to hear some personal reviews. Or alternative models that are very similar.

It’s ok if you don’t like this concept. But I’m hoping to hear from people who have had actual experience.

Here’s the best spatula! Super thin and takes high heat so won’t melt like the regular nylon ones.
Matfer Bourgeat Exoglass High Heat Slotted Pelton Spatula,

I succumbed to the online hype. I really like the pan.

The sides are deeper than my last pan of this size that needed replacing. It’s easy to clean. The wooden spoon, it’s fine but I’m neutral about it. Doesn’t make a pan or not.

I’ve boiled pasta in the pan with the strainer and that worked.

I had a pan essentially the same size that was past it’s expiration date so I was looking at replacing. The cost of this pan (which I bought with the Black Friday sale) was similar to a good pan of the same size.

It’s a pan, I like it. I didn’t find it that expensive because I was looking at pans that were around the same price. I like that it’s colorful. I only use 3 pans, this one, a 5 quart saucepan and a Dutch oven. I knew that this size would be used often.

Many thanks @deb922 . See! I knew there was hype!

I have heard they do sales. I may keep an eye out for that. I use my cast iron pans (2) LOTS but would be happy to have a versatile mid sized pan and not worry about a collection of different sizes.

I need to look and see what components come with the pan.

Google Always pan review.
Reddit had people wondering about the hype also.
The main responses were that it is not meant for high heat and customer service is not good. You can’t put it in the oven. Nor go over medium heat on the stove.
Someone who has had it over a year said it sticks all the time now (great at first but now useless) and many agreed that the non stick simply doesn’t last.

I wouldn’t buy a pan like this personally, but I have a question: As it appears to be ceramic, is it heavy?

Nope, not heavy at all

Made of aluminum so it’s light.

Thought I’d report back that this is the 2 pan/lid set I ended up buying. I’ve had them a couple of weeks and use one or the other or both daily. Really good performance so far. Effective with heat, non-stick, multi-use (can go in the oven up to 425 or 450) and easy clean up. I liked that these came with lids.

THANKS! It is always great to have feedback from somebody we “know”. I agree that lids are nice… glass lids even better.
