Decision: Accepted

Stats:

SAT: 2010 (720M, 620CR, 670W with 10 essay)

SAT IIs: 670 US History, 660 Math II (which should be in the 700s, I’m good at math), 640 Chemistry

AP: 5 U.S. History, 5 Calc AB, 4 Chemistry, 3 English Language

GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.6 W

Rank: 3/650

Subjective:

 • Essays: Very good
 • Teacher Recs: probably good, I did not get to read them
 • Counselor Rec: probably good, I did not get to read it
 • Hook (if any): none

Location/Person:

 • State or Country: Arizona
 • School Type: Public, and really good one, and large (3200 students)
 • Ethnicity: Asian (parents from India)
 • Gender: Male

why I got accepted/rejected: perfect high school transcripts, varsity soccer (we had a really good team this year), tried to make a name for myself at school-- many people know me and like me, U.S. Senate Youth Program, RYLA, 1st place in chemistry at state science fair, truly worked my butt off in school

Last thoughts: For all you out there with lower SAT scores, keep your hopes high! Sometimes having superior qualities in everything other than test scores will get you into top colleges.

thanks thrills4ever…i was nervous up until the end…but i sent a lot of quality extra work in to show them how good of a writer i am and that a lower sat scores in those areas (650cr/670w) did not reflect how good of an english student i am and hope to become at the university…good luck to you wherever you decide to go and if you should decide to transfer and become a wahoo as well!
