Is it that much harder for out of state??

I would say you’ll get in. UGA actually looks for diverse people. They look at where people are from geographically. Some can say OOS have a less chance of getting in, but I beg to differ. They want more non-Caucasian since there are a lot of them already attending UGA. UGA wants to diversify itself! I may seem repetitive, but I believe they look at your geographical location, race, what your first language was, etc. I believe it interests them if your first language is NOT English.

More stats:
Applied 5,600 Accepted 2,889 Percent 52% (OOS only)
Applied 11,416 Accepted 6,406 Percent 56% (TOTAL)

Also, the out of state students accepted had a lower SAT and GPA on average, so it doesn’t look like it’s that much tougher, if at all, to get in OOS.

I’d think you’d be fine and would have a good shot at Honors too.

vig, is that for this year’s EA statistics?

I met several out of state students at my son’s orientation last year…they were not “diverse” as far as race…you have a great shot…Did you apply EA? I think you would have gotten in EA this year…your stats kicked butt compared to my 2nd son, who did get EA, btw. While UGA (as most schools) seeks a diverse population, they also need students who will be successful. Your stats reflect that you are a successful student and will do well anywhere. Go ahead and buy a bulldog hat for Christmas!

Last year’s stats.

Oh and actually, that wasn’t the total; the second set of numbers was in-state only. I’ll correct that.
