So, i’m a senior getting ready for college next year. I live in NJ and have been my entire life. I’ve been thinking about going to Towson Universtiy for 4 years in MD next year. But just the other day, I just found out that the Universtiy of Maryland has this program where I can go to 1 of 4 community colleges they are partnered with for the MTAP program. Basically for this option, I can to the community college (out-of-state) and then if i complete the needed credits and mantain a certain gpa, I am guarenteed admission (not major) into UM for my jr and sr year; from what I understood.

Aside from the money that I can save from the 2 years of CC, graduating from UM is looked upon more than graduating from Towson. But comming out-of-state, I would have to go live on my own (with financial support from parents), not being able to continue my sport, and bascially start going to the CC knowing no one, which is scary. On the otherhand, TU has the dorming experience for friends and I was recruited for one of their teams; a more conforting choice.

I’m stuck because idk if i should go for the better school with a scary and lonely start, or going to another public 4 year school which i’m more comfortable starting out with. I’d really appreciate the opinions and any more info on MTAP if anyone knows about it.
