Hello! I was wondering, when I file for financial aid do I file for the state I’m wishing to attend or my own? I’m currently in Florida, but want to attend college in NY. I wasn’t sure if I should file my financial aid with FL or NY. Thanks!
When you file for financial aid you put down the state where you are a resident, because for some places the FAFSA is the first step in getting state aid. If you live in Florida, you are not eligible for NYS aid

There are very few schools in NY that meet 100% demonstrated red. Those that do are very competitive for admissions
You need to apply to some gorida schools to ensue that you and your family have some financially feasible options. It would be especially helpful if you are eligible for bright futures.
Thank ya! I plan on applying to Molloy College and Adelphi as my main two NYS colleges.
Please run the net price calaculator for both schools because neither gives good financial aid nor are they “better” than the CUNY/SUNYT schools.
