Out-of-stater's chances

Hey, I am from out-of-state (VA) but I was wondering what my chances are for any of the UC’s… are there any I can consider a match/safety? Or is it all a reach b/c I am out of state? I want to study film, but if the school doesn’t have it I would study history or cultural studies. Also, I have only been to LA, so could you please tell me how the other cities the other UC’s are in are like? Thanks a lot.

You have a good chance at Berkeley and UCLA.
UCSD is a safe match, the rest are almost sure to accept you.

thanks bjwbell.

any other input…please…?

UCLA is the public school to study film…USC is the private and you should look into both schools programs… good luck.
