Outrageous application attempt

I have a friend applying to University of Chicago. Her chances are probably pretty slim to get in, so she wants to distinguish herself. She is convinced that Chicago’s admissions people are open-minded, and looking for something different. She said she is fancying up her paper application by decorating it, and then explaining why in a formal letter the reason she decorated it. She asked me my opinion on it, and I didn’t know what to tell her. What should she do?

I guess this thread should have been under College Admissions. Sorry. I’d still like to hear what everyone has to say.

Hah, I like it. Tell me how it ends up.

decoration, writing in a spiral, and other girly girly stuff is a no no

well if it is a huge reach anything might help… lol

If her individuallity is most of what she has to go for…

U. Chicago prides itself on its “Uncommon” application. So I must say, it’s worth a try, probably will help :P

hey, it can’t hurt. a school that asks students to write essays “inspired by giant tubs of mustard” can’t be too close-minded about these things, can it? =T
