I know it says on usc.connect that we are supposed to have outside scholarship agencies make payments to USC, but the instructions on my scholarship award letter says to have someone from the school fill it out during orientation. Is this what most people do?

Congratulations on the scholarship!!!

It depends on the requirements of the scholarship sponsor. Some of them require that USC fill out a form confirming that you are enrolled, some require that you actually start classes, some just send a check to whatever school you list, and some send a check directly to you.

USC is happy to fill out any paperwork for you. You can mail or FAX it to financial aid. Include your USC ID # and a copy of the award letter. You can bring it with you to orientation, but I think it would be easier to just send it to them.

If the scholarship might not arrive before your Fall semester payment is due, you can request a deferral for the amount of the scholarship.

Okay, I will be faxing the letter. Thanks for the help!
