I did my CSS application back in December. Before Christmas, if I remember correctly. On the CSS, there is a question that says something along the lines of “what is the value of the scholarships/grants you EXPECT to receive from sources other than the colleges or universities that the student has applied to.” I am not sure if I was expecting to apply to a plethora of outside scholarships, but I said the value is $5000. As of today, I have not received any outside scholarships. Does this affect the amount of aid that I could receive? Is this something I should let colleges know about? If I should let them know, should I wait until I know what colleges I have gotten into (as it is already March), and then let them know?
It might. I’d send an email to the financial aid office of the schools you applied to and tell them you don’t have any outside scholarships.
