Over the Line

My dad has completely stepped over the line (and I thought my mother would be the first to do that).

By his logic, if my essays do not meet his standards, then obviously I’m not trying hard enough, so if I don’t get the merit scholarships (at WashU), then why should he pay for schools (if I get in) like Harvard or Princeton?

Well, what are his standards? That’s the upsetting part. His arguments against my essays make absolutely no sense to me.

Can some parents please look over my short essays and critique them? (Please parents? I posted the request here because students and parents obviously have separate minds.) Hopefully, my father will see that his standards are rather alien and illogical. If you’ll be so kind to read them, I’ll include his comments too. Thanks!

Any others willing to help too? Thanks.

PM me but don’t tell your dad where I live.

You can PM me, to. ditto about the caveat.
