well, let’s pick a good college first… how about Yale</p>

<p>Anyway, let’ say you had a 2.5 GPA. Now imagine everybody who wanted to apply to Yale suddenly applied to Harvard instead.</p>

<p>Therefore there were no applicants for Yale for the 2018 fall semester</p>

<p>HOWEVER</p>

<p>You, with your 2.5 GPA decide to apply. You, the ONLY applicant with a 2.5 (not saying that a 2.5 is bad) will apply to Yale for the year 2018.</p>

<p>Will Yale be forced to accept you?</p>

<p>Yes or No. That is the question</p>

<p>If you’re still confused: If you meet a university’s/ college’s basic standards, and there is no competition, will either locale be forced to accept you?</p>

<p>No. Having one single student in the Class of 'xx would appear even more ridiculous than having zero, as some sort of excuse could be devised for the latter. Rejection would be automatic.</p>
