<p>I'm an asian girl from Delaware</p>

<p>4.0 GPA unweighted
5 in AP bio, currently taking AP chem and calc
all other academic classes are honors
PSAT: 214, 201 so. year
SAT: err...i don't really want to talk about it...
definitely retesting...and aiming for at least a 2200</p>

<p>what are my chances at UNC-C Hill, UT Austin, UCB and the other public ivies? How about UPenn, Penn State, Duke, RPI, Rice, Virginia Tech, and Emory? I want to major in either premed or engineering</p>

<p>also, do you have any suggested colleges that are strong in those areas and offer good financial aid?</p>

<p>Looking good. Just make sure you raise your SAT</p>

<p>Also, try looking into Princeton, which has the best finanicial aid program (along with harvard) in the country, and is still top 13 in engineering. Pton has 90% acceptance into Med school, probably the highest in the country.</p>

<p>Don't get too confident no matter what. Applying to the extremely competitive and even the very competitive schools is really a crap shoot. For everyone they accept, there are five almost identical applicants who are denied. </p>

<p>If you apply to five school with accept rates of 10%, 15%, 15%, 20% and 20%, then the chance of not being accepted is 90%, 85%, 85%, 80% and 80%. The chance of not being accepted to any of them is 0.9 * 0.85 * 0.85 * 0.80 * 0.80 = 41.6%.</p>

<p>Also the 50% SAT ranges at the schools is based on all successful applicants. Someone applying during regular decision who is not a legacy, minority, athlete, development case, or VIP should be on the high end of the 50% range.</p>
