Overall GPA Higher than Major GPA?

<p>I just calculated it, and I realized that my Overall GPA is 3.85 and Major GPA is 3.80. Does that mean I am taking electives that are too easy? What do admissions commitees think when they see a higher Overall GPA than Major GPA?</p>

<p>Bwahaha! My question wasn’t at all a “does my GPA suck” pity party. Its fine, but I do wonder about weakness of electives. I try to take electives I relaly enjoy as much as possible, but those are usually stuff liek Creative Writing and Sociology classes. Is this a waste of time/energy on my part? Should I be taking electives with some more uh…meat on them?</p>

<p>my overall gpa was way higher than my major gpa. but i guess that’s why they asked for my science/math gpa, major gpa, and overall gpa. in any case, it didn’t seem to have any negative effects. oh wait, i got rejected from 4 schools. maybe it does matter.</p>

<p>I doubt my Overall GPA will ever be proposterously higher than my Major GPA, but I was more concerned about taking weak electives. I try to take electives I enjoy, but maybe I should start taking electives that are useful…</p>
