I’m finally narrowing down some of my options and I’m just trying to get rid of colleges that have overenrolled their current freshman class. So far, I’ve heard Duke as a rumor, but their admit rate last year seems pretty decent at around 20% so I don’t know what to expect when I apply there. Does anyone know any good schools who you should try to avoid when transferring due to over-enrollment?

barnard overenrolled this year (they have freshmen living in lounges instead of regular dorm rooms because of it) but they always seem to have a lot of transfers so i’m not sure how much this will affect them, especially since they’re in the process of building a new dorm.

I thought they only admitted 24 students last year.

I looked at Collegeboard.com

Transfer Students
Total number of transfer students who applied: 407
Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 79

Be careful, the collegeboard is not always accurate with their numbers.

Duke definitely overenrolled this year-though mostly in the engineering school.
