If requirements in one major (e.g. East Asian Studies w/ Concentration in Political Economy courses such as Econ 101 or "3 other courses in economics that have a substantial component in East Asia) overlap with another major (e.g. Economics) is that okay and can those courses be counted towards both majors? This is very important for me as I will go to Wesleyan if I am able to Triple Major in East Asian Studies/Econ/Film and study abroad for a semester all w/in four years. Thanks so much for the help!

Thacher2011 - I think the short answer here is that an Econ course does not lose its character as an Econ course merely because it is an overlap with another major or program; it still counts toward the department’s course requirements (assuming it meets all other requirements.) The same is true for any major or certificate program at Wesleyan.
