Would it be time efficient to study both Direct Hits (vol.1+2) and Hot Words for the SAT?
Does anyone have experience with reading all three books? If you were to guess, how many overlapping words are there between the two sets of books?
I have read several posts regarding memorizing word lists such as sparknotes, hit parade, etc…but do these lists contain many overlapping words? (I am reluctant to spend money on these books if they have too many overlapping words)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Desperate for replies.

I found Hot Words to be very helpful and very easy to learn. And Direct Hits has consistently proven itself to be the number one vocabulary book out there.

I think that it would be worthwhile to go over these three books. And flip through Sparknotes when you’re done to see if there is anything you missed.

Based from what I’ve read around here, Direct Hits is the way to go.
But is it bad that I only ordered the first volume of Direct Hits and not the 2nd one as well? Lol.

^Ideally you want both versions. However I think you’ll find that there will be almost as many words in volume 1 that you won’t know as in volume 2.
