Overload fee

<p>I’m an international student accepted to WPI class of 2015. However, the scholarship is not really good so I decided to do some research on overload and have some questions, please help me!

• How much does overload (Per 1/3 Unit) cost? $1,590 or $3,075? Because I found 2 pages providing the information but nothing says about the change ( $3,075 to $1,590) or did I miss something?

<p>Call or email WPI, they can easily answer that question.</p>

<p>Be carefull about overloading, I don’t recommend it. I got a little behind and did it one semester (not at WPI). It was a disaster. Not enough hours in the day to do proper justice to all my classes. Ended up dropping 2 classes (school had a drop date very late in the semester) and ended up having to go 4 and a half years to graduate. Engineering school is tough enough with a regular load.</p>

<p>Even if you are able to complete all you classes in an overload situation, your GPA will probably suffer. With the poor economic situation, a good GPA seems like it is critical to getting a job (or even grad school) when you graduate.</p>

<p>I’ll try to break this down so it is easy to understand:

• You can take 7 classes a semester for the standard undergrad tuition price.
• Each additional class is $3,XXX. Gym classes and some lab classes come in cheaper.</p>

<p>I completely agree with what HPuck said regarding overloading. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommended any student to take any more than four classes a quarter.</p>
