Overnight program in Cornell is helpful in admission?

Is it helpful to know well about Cornell University and to show one’s interest in Cornell University for admission?

Absolutely! Showing passion and interest in your essays is a great sign…and in order to reveal your interest it’s important to have some background info about the school you are applying to!

it does but it wouldn’t convince adcom to admit you solely because of that one visit.

I did one. I’ll let you know in about two months.

back then in OCt. i actually registered for an open house, but in the end i called them and said i can’t attend (cause i don’t have time to go), i always thought that thing might affect my admission, but seems like not really…
but in the other hand one of my teacher’s son went to the open house visit, and got letter from admissioner saying Cornell is interested in him… so no idea which is true or which help

It has absolutely no influence on admissions decision.
None.
Zero.

I agree that an overnight visit will not directly influence an admissions decision. Nevertheless, I agree with Acerbic that to the extent that an overnight (or daytime) visit allows you to sound more genuine in an essay as to why you want to attend Cornell, then it would be a useful thing to do, if feasible.
