What do you think is overrated or underrated in terms of entertainment? I’m talking about music, books, movies, or even [popular] Internet memes.

I’ll start.

Music:

Overrated: Fall Out Boy. I don’t get the appeal of this band. Their songs suck, and you cant understand a word the singer is, well, singing. Add that to the fact that they get constant rotation on Top 40 and you’ve got one overrated band.

Books:

I think “Catcher in the Rye” is overrated ducks

Movies:

Casablanca is overrated. I thought the whole story, while mildly interesting, kind of plodded along. Especially the whole romance element with Ingrid Bergmann and Humphrey Bogart. The whole thing just left me cold.

Internet:

That Numa-Numa guy a few years ago? I didn’t see the funny part. Fat guy doing goofy dance to Romanian techno music. Woooow, how exciting.

music: any pop music is completely awful. for the most part, experimental/ambient is done poorly and people who flock to “indie” garbage for the purpose of being different are dumb.

internet: any dumb 4chan memes are complete garbage. dumb smilies. dumb intentional misspellings.

I’d have to say that “Who Knew” by Pink is underrated. I usually don’t enjoy many of Pink’s songs (U + Ur Hand, Stupid Girls, etc.), but this song is very emotional and very, very good. Somehow, however, it’s highest position on the Billboard Top 100 chart has only been 87 despite the fact that it has been out for over a year.
