Wow. Thanks for the links. The first part of the series is terrific. I was really fascinated by the historical information about Zawahiri. I was aware of the broad outlines, but never really seen the philosophical underpinings laid out that effectively.

American media (which is predominantly controlled by Jews) is no better than BBC. At least BBC portrays the other side of the story as to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Not exactly. Nobody in my household can sit through a Michael Moore documentary. It’s like watching Rush Limbaugh give political commentary. Cheap and manipulative.

So far, what I am enjoying about the BBC documentary is the historic factual stuff. For example, the neo-cons’ view of the Soviet Union was certainly discredited when the Soviet block disintegrated from within. It is quite clear, with the benefit of hindsight, that their economy was in total shambles.

I thought it was interesting how Kissinger was portrayed in Part I. I would have to say that history has shown him to have been largely on target in his forecast of a global economy transcending nation-state borders as a guiding principle of US foreign policy. I’ve often wondered how he became persona non grata in a succession of Republican administrations.

Give fundingfather a break… He really can’t go and view the program this second. He’s just saying that there’s another side of the debate. I obviously haven’t seen the program either, but anyone who says global terrorism is not a threat is somewhat naive. Although I can certainly buy the idea that the administration overstates the threat and preys on people’s fears.

I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, but I’ll try to make time. I do note that the documentary pre-dates the bombing of the London underground and the capture of “sleeper cells” in Rochester and elsewhere, which makes we wonder if the author would be quite so bold in his assertions were he to start the project anew.

Dstark,
Is the link suppose to connect to a video because I’m not getting it? I clicked on the link to the BBC at the bottom of the page and it linked to an intro or synopsis, but no video.

You click on one of the three links I provided, and then hit the play button on the left side below the photo. Wait for the buffering. If you hit the BBC link, you won’t get the show.
