For my application, I decided not to oversell myself and just go all out bragging about stuff I did.

Is it good/bad to over sell yourself?

I’m saying like making your application look elaborate by tweeting some information.

Also I raised money only about 250 dollars and donated to an orphange but I left that out of the application because it looked so superficial. Is that good or bad for college apps?

You should put anything truthful on your app that may enhance it.

Consequently, you should have included the fact that you raised $250 for an orphanage. Depending on how you did it, what you did could have made an impressive essay, too. It may have been harder for you to raise $250 than for someone to have done 500 hours of community service that consisted of sitting around waiting to be told what to do. Raising money takes initiative.
