Oxford MSt, DPhil in English

I’ve been looking into Oxford’s MSt and DPhil in English lately, but I’m completely confused as to how many years this path would take.

The website hasn’t helped much:

Can anyone clarify: Is it a total of 3-4 years including the 1-year MSt, or is it the 1-year MSt plus another 3-4 years for the DPhil?

1 year MSt plus 3-4 years. UK Masters are designed to allow you to continue to the doctorate level, but they can be terminal if one wishes. Completion of the MSt, moreover, does not guarantee admission into the DPhil. The general requirement for entry is at least 65+ and often will require a distinction at the Masters level.
