So my three choices are oxford, urochester and furman.
I never considered oxford untill I was waitlisted at Emory and asked to apply. Now I’m not sure whether I should consider it as I will eventually end up at Emory or if I should go with another school. When eventually going into Emory do the student’s treat the Oxford continuees as seriously because I noticed the stats are lower or no? I dont really know anything about Oxford so any input would be appreciated I am visiting shortly tho! :)

urochester is a great school. I honestly wouldn’t want to spend 2 years at oxford (middle of nowhere, most of the students are in-state, very small school)

thanks for the input! yeah i loved urochester the weather was basically the only downside for me…

I have urochster and UIUC oxford and brandies in hands. I cannot really decide either. probably i goona wait for Emory and BC (I was waitlisted.). But it is hard to decide whether oxford or UR.

i was waitlisted at BC as well
yeah i know i think im going to visit them both and see

Colleges00701… having fun turning people away from Emory?

When I visited Oxford, it was great… a small tight-knit community.

^^^ I am giving my own opinion on oxford. I mean its up to the OP to decide what he/she wants to do, but the op did ask for an opinion. And I am not turning kids away from Emory College.

ive heard that oxford was pretty dead socially and the kids didnt mix in well with the Emory kids

haha all input is great thanks- the OP appreciates.

Oxford is NOT dead socially. In fact, they blend in very well with Emory students and are often at the main campus itself. I live in Georgia with tons of friends/family who are/went at/to Emory or Oxford and this is not the case. Oxford students do very well, many times even better, than Emory students once they get to Emory their third year. I was waitlisted at Emory, but Oxford is appealing to me.

“Oxford students do very well, many times even better, than Emory students once they get to Emory their third year”

More unsubstantiated claims from past, current, and future Oxford students. I wish just ONE person would provide a link supporting this absurd claim.

I would choose Furman esp if you are going to major in chem/physics/bio and like a southern feel to your school.

^^^ emorydeac, they can’t ANY EVIDENCE. So many ■■■■■■■■ claims like this go up on forums all the time.

I think oxford kids like to believe this, because they don’t want to be seen as the kids who had to use the backdoor into Emory.

I am going to Emory college but can we stop hating on Oxford college students. Its so juvenile.
