Can I share a P.O. Box with my brother at college? I don’t think I’ll be getting much mail so I think it would be a better idea just to get one for both of us since it costs $40 a year to rent. Is that possible? Or should we each get our own? Do some of you guys do that with your roommates or siblings?

if it’s only $40 a year, then i would suggest that you both get seperate boxes

^What would be the advantage of having seperate ones?

Would professors, offices, etc. send mail to our P.O. box? Or is it there for family, friends, etc. writing in?

Your school doesn’t give you a mailing address and box? Some do, so check on that. Otherwise I would just get one, as long as you trust your brother.

^We have to rent a P.O. Box.

As long as there are no legal ramifications and/or technical difficulties that may occur in sharing a box, then I am willing to rent one box to share. Are you guys aware of any difficulties that may arise?

If you do share a box, would be be able to get two copies of the key?

If you can each get a key for it, there’s no reason not to share it.

just rent one box, there’s no need for more and remember to only pick up your mail and not your brother’s.

Thanks for all the advice.

Is it possible to get 2 keys for the same box? If not, we will both live in the same building anyways, so I could just drop it off for him.

i’m almost positive you can(or do) get two keys when you rent a PO box
