Hey I was wondering how PA schools take your retakes into consideration. My first semester of college I screwed up and got 5 Cs 1 in calc, first part gen chem, human sexuality, and both physics. I know I can get an A in these if I retake them but I talked to my advisor and he said it wont raise my cummalitive GPA only my sciece gpa will be raised. Is it worth doing for PA school, i think all they look at is science gpa? and would they take the better grade or how would they go about?
thanks! im at around a 3.2 gpa with these Cs
Unless your school does not count the grades for repeat courses, your overall GPA will have to go up if you repeat all the courses and get As. It may not go up much but the average course for all these 5 courses will now be a B for double the credits instead of a C for the current number of credits. It can’t help but raise the GPA a bit.
There may be some benefit for a PA program to demonstrate that you really can handle the material.
