Please have in mind that I’m a low income OKLAHOMAN-ASIAN WITH CITIZENSHIP

Anyone???

In at all except Penn, which is a toss-up.

hmm…yeah I expected Upenn to be that way. But How about Cornell and the other Prestigious schools?

no cornell, no berkeley, no upenn

being asian and being from oklahoma negate each other so it’s not gonna help you much (that you’re from oklahoma) - especially since you’re korean (korean, chinese, indians = way over represented at college)

take another SAT II, because even if you spent years learning korean in classes, colleges immediately assume that since you’re racially korean, you were already fluent in the korean language (even if you weren’t) and will disregard this score

being valedictorian isn’t going to help you as much as you think because your scores aren’t quite as high as some of these schools require (implying you’re school isn’t the most competitive, thus making you less ready for a rigorous courseload)

you’re ECs are weak and you didn’t seem to do them for very long

on the other hand, good job with the valedictorian thing, and the low-income won’t hurt

I would not say in at Berkely. Out of state competition for Berkeley is comparable to any Ivy.

Other than Berkeley and UPenn, most likely in at the others.

oh for the EC, I just put the most important few…because I think I can only mention five or something EC’s on the application…but thanks for the comments! I love harsh evaluations

If your name doesn’t sound Asian, you can probably check “other” on your college app and so the adcoms won’t know that you’re Korean.

yeah…it’s not gonna work lol but thanks anyway

yeah the Korean SAT…not really that impressive. Thats like me taking the TOEFL…

Your Ec’s: you have at most 3 years of dedication to a single EC (not good), and they dont really reflect any sort of passion. If your interested in business, did start/participate in any business-related clubs? If not, why?

I think you’re a smart kid though, and have a decent shot at most of these (unless youre applying to Wharton, which you probably are).

Thanks guys!! And I’ve played soccer for churches and clubs for 5 years, but I stopped playing it…so should I include hoppies/things I’ve done in the past but for a long time?

Bumpabumpa

I mean your real strength is your amazing GPA, but you seem to test quite sub-par for the schools you are applying to, especially on AP tests. Your ECs appear very rushed for the fact most are 11th grade on, which is displaying the tell-tale sign of a College Resume’ inflation. I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into any of the more prestigious schools like WashU, but I think more than not you will get rejected unless you manage to improve those test scores one more time. If I were you I might add one more safety.

thanks, but from my research and peers, AP scores don’t matter for admission at all…it’s just the grades in those classes that matter

anyone??bumpabumpa bumpitty bump

Id say you have a good shot at all of them except Berkley, Emory, and U PENN. Make sure your write a killer essay for those, it could mean the difference. nice recommendations would help too

Thanks swimguy! You guys are so helpful I really appreciate all this

and yeah, AP scores have no effect whatsoever on admission

Going to disagree with eariler post that said check other, if it is innacurate or appears innacurate you could be screwed just leave it blank. 31 is kind-of low for some of the schools on the list, but you should probably be in at most except maybe UPenn and Berkley; also try EA at Emory

thank man but emory has ED :)
