How much influence does it have on outside scholarships to have no paid work experience? I know some award points in having that experience. I feel that is unfair. In today’s economy it is not easy to get a job. I have applied several times during my junior and senior year in hs but no one would hire. I do a lot of ECs at school and some volunteer work so that cuts down the time on work availabilty so no one hires if you are not available most of the time. I am sure this is hurting me on scholarships that asked for paid work experience.

I am sure that the people reading scholarship applications are well aware of the fact that it is very difficult right now for teens to get jobs. I would think volunteering counts just as much as paid experience.
