Apparently, one of my favorite bands, Radiohead, visited Palo Alto and wrote a song about the city (and they’re English, too). The b-side completely knocks the city and basically confirms it to be yuppie central- it talks about how everyone seems so happy, is set for life, etc., and how the city is responsible for a great deal of modern “progress,” yet feels so empty (keep in mind one of the band’s albums is called “OK Computer”).

I don’t know. Just an interesting bit of information, especially because Radiohead is huge on the college scene.

In a city of the future,
it is hard to consentrate.
Meet the boss, meet the wife,
everybody’s happy,
everyone is made for life.
I a city of the future,
it is difficult to find a space.
I’m to busy to see you,
you’re to busy to wait.
Well I’m ok, how are you?
Thanks for asking

Well I’m ok, how are you?
We hope that you are ok too.
Everyone of those days,
when the sky is californian blue.
A beautiful bombshell,
I throw myself into my world
Two day, I’ve been waiting for so long.
Well I’m ok, how are you?
Thanks for asking

Here’s a link to the music video. You need Real Player installed (I couldn’t find one for windows media player). Keep in mind it’s just a little weird.
