Paper ACT super scored with Digital ACT minus science?

In a nutshell, D26 took paper ACT in Feb and April. Her science score is crap. She wants to try to find a seat to take the digital version minus the science ACT and is wondering if the new scoring rubric with the composite only being English/Reading/Math- will they just combine those digital subject scores with her paper English/Reading/math to make a superscore, or os the fact that she now has two paper since scores on file going to mean that she either has to only submit new digital scores minus science, or a combination of digital and paper scores that include science from her first two paper attempts? Anyone have any insight? I cannot find a clear answer anywhere and ACT is being cagey about it. They keep just saying you can superscore digital and paper but are not staying if the digital leaves off science what happens to the paper science scores.

I would read this whole article by Compass prep:

Here’s what they say about superscoring, your student should check current ACT policies at all the colleges on their list.

What about superscoring?

Superscoring recalculates a Composite score by averaging a student’s best performance in each section. This gets complicated once science becomes an optional part of the exam. Students may have a mix of scores from the science-included and science-optional formats. ACT’s own Superscore Report will switch to a superscore Composite made up only of English, reading, and math at the earlier of a) September 2025 or b) when a student first takes the ACT online. However, ACT does not dictate colleges’ policies. Compass expects most colleges to superscore across versions of the exam, as nearly all did in the 2023–2024 school year when the SAT was transitioning to a new version. Harvard has already proved an exception by stating that it will only superscore classic scores with classic scores and core scores with core scores.

I had the same question! Does anyone have a student who has taken the new online ACT (excluding Science) in April 2025 that can share how the ACT superscore is reported across old and new tests? Is the ACT reported superscore composite based on the best scores for 3 sections even if prior tests included Science? Or is the superscore based only scores from the new digital test?
