I recently spoke to a student who told me that some classes have a paper wait list instead of the online one, and that I should go up to the university to speak to the professor to find out. Is this true? I REALLY want to get into this one class, but I don’t want to waste gas and money for nothing.

Depending on the class, YES some profs will have a physical waitlist in class on the first day. Usually what this means is that if you show up, sign the list, BAM you’re added to the class.

Though for some classes, you’ll just have to wait it out on the list. If you need this class for your major, you may be able to convince the prof to add you. To do that, you’d need to talk to your advisor, get a form, get the prof to sign and you’re added to the class.

If you just want to get into this class and it’s not a req for your degree, you’ll probably have to wait it out on the list, or sign up next semester.
