Paralympics

I decided to start a new thread instead of continuing the Olympic thread. It looks like it is going to take a lot more work to watch the events than the Olympics. The best I have found so far is Paralympics.org. If anyone knows of another location, please let me know.

I am not a skier (tried twice) but I love to watch. Downhill in the Olympics was thrilling. I can’t imagine hurtling down a mountain strapped into a chair! I also watched the seated biathlon last night. The strength and power required to cross country ski using only arms is awesome and then to tip the chair over and accurately shoot 10 targets!

The U.S. is off to a good start but the athletes’ stories are more important to me than the medal count. A good example is our flag bearer who developed equipment that also helps his competitors.

I was so frustrated b/c I thought things would be televised & all I could find was college basketball! Would love to see these athletes inspirational stories.

NBC is currently showing tapes of last nights events.
