One-income family, the parent doesn’t have a W2, they have a 1099. Uploaded all the relevant information to CSS, and did all the IDOC. Schools still list “Parent W2” with a big red X.
What do I do? Any action needed? Do I need to email all 20 schools and ask them about it?
Try calling IDOC.
I’m sure there’s a simple answer. Tons of people don’t have W2s.
I used to tell students to upload a piece of paper on which they wrote a note when the system would not let them bypass the requirement. You could write, “Parent did not receive W2s. They did receive 1099s, which have been uploaded to the system.”
