parent2noles is visiting the Bay Area: dinner anyone?

All righty then, we in the Bay Area are now getting the chance to have dinner together AND meet up with p2n, who will be visiting for work this coming week. I know it’s short notice, but the nights of Mon. 5/14 through Thurs. 5/17 are up for grabs. If you’re in the SF Bay Area and would like to meet up with p2n and me for a bite one evening, PM me ASAP and let me know what nights work for you and what area you’d be willing to go to. p2n will be in the South Bay (near San Jose) and without a car, but I am also in the San Jose area and can deliver us both somewhere not too terribly far. We could plan something up the peninsula towards SF or up the East Bay towards Oakland, but I don’t think we’ll hike all the way to Oakland or SF proper: I’d rather meet somewhere in the middle since we’ll all be tired after our respective weekday gigs.

So. Who’s in, and when, and where? If it’s just p2n and me, we’ll do fine, but we’d love to have company! (And I can fit a total of 4 persons in my Prius, or 5 if we’re feeling chummy.) Y’all come!

Will this be white tie? :)

Sorry. In Texas here, but have fun! (I’m trying to bump your thread up so some folks will see it!)

Bad timing. :frowning: I won’t be around there 'til August and then, only in Carmel for a wedding. But I’m there in spirit.

Should we offer free tee shirts or beer?

Yeah, to go with the white tie…

If it’s going to be white tie, will Queen Elizabeth be there?

Hey, I’ll buy an actual round for everyone… if anyone else joins us, that is.

And I’ll think of an appropriate party favor. ;)

Will white socks work with the white tie? I never get these things straight. :(

ROTFL, white socks with ANYTHING

I’ll be in SoCal but without white socks unless I’m doing a four-mile walk for exercise.

Ah Mootmom, sorry I won’t be there for the fun. I’m hoping to get there next school year with DD again.

p2n,
White socks with either sandals or black lace-up shoes is a nice touch. I see that it is especially fashionable for you floridians :D

OK so … is anyone else actually interested in dining with us? We may have to take pictures of p2n’s feet…

(BUMP)

Do black wingtips go with jeans?

I would also buy a round for the brave soul(s) able to visit for a bit.

No, p2n. Winged tips go with camouflage pants, winter boots go with painters pants http://www.fogdog.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2476343</a> and… er… rubbers http://www.backyardstyle.com/shop/index.php?page=shop-flypage-7966-1c24ab8230a51170ff2a3bf783b846e6&ps_session=e125cb470036019908535c124d28d912</a> go with jeans. :D

I’ve been known to wear black oxfords, but not wingtips, with jeans. It’s generally conceded that I have a fashion deficit however.

B U M P… just in case anyone is reading threads here on Mother’s Day. : )

Hey mootie-- it is quiet in here…
No one even responded to my suggstion that p2n wear rubbers. Where is everyone?/ That would normally ahve gotten a few choice retorts by now :)

I’m just sorry I can’t make it. Sounds like fun.
