Parents - Do you have any tatoos?

I have a piece of gravel in my knee from falling off the merry-go-round in first grade. Does that count?

And my husband has a bluish mark on his arm where someone stabbed him with a pencil in elementary school.

Yep, boring here too.

TheDad - we require photo confirmation.

O30: I’ll send you the one of me with Orlando Bloom.

100% natural here. No piercings. Don’t even own any jewelery, except wedding ring.

Um… would ANYONE believe me if I said that I did??? ;)

Just as I suspected…dang, now I have to tell the truth—
NO tatoos here…and yes, another “late” ear piercer (only one in each ear)!

berurah, whose wild side is not overtly exposed ;)

Definitely not. I can still remember my late father’s admonition about tattoos being indicative of a low IQ and lower common sense. I never dated anyone who had one either. I have told the same thing to my children (the more tattoos, the lower the IQ) but once they are financially independent…it is their own lives to lead (and bodies to mark up).

I have, as yet, codified my wild-side with a tattoo…though on a night out, I might demurely offer a visual memento in a romantic moment.;)

No tatoo except for the ugly little ankle vein thing that appeared when I was pregnant. Maybe it will be gone when college tuition is paid for. I pierced my ears when I was 30 because someone complained I couldn’t receive diamond earrings for a present.

Nice someone! ~berurah

I don’t have any tattoos, although I kind of wish I was brave enough to do it. Two of my Ds have small ankle tattoos which I like. They were actually inspired to do it by my best friend who is my age and has two! And, seiclan, the low IQ definitely doesn’t fit in the case of ANY of them! ;)

I, too, was late to having my ears pierced. I had it done along with one of my Ds when she was six.

I love some of the responses here, especially driver’s. We all need some tatoos that can come and go depending on the crowd we’re in. over30 - I would think gravel would count! And berurah - it’s never too late!!!

noobie~

For the tatoo? Or to expose my (considerable) wild side!!!

One or two people here are already privy…but trust me, I don’t think the entire place could handle it…blush

I got a henna tattoo a couple summers ago right before one of S’s baseball tournaments. I had the team logo with his name above it and his jersey number below it. Originally several other moms were going to do the same thing, but they all chickened out  .
After I had it done a bunch of them thought it was cool and wished they’d done it. It was right above my right ankle.

I may get a permanent one this summer, but don’t know what design yet…or where!

eta: have 3 piercings in my left ear and 2 in my right. Used to have 4 in my left, but let the one on the top part of my ear close up.

I only have two piercings in my left ear and one in right
no tats yet…
thinking about one on my hip or maybe my foot
my D gets her hands hennaed at street fairs and it looks really nice- I haven’t gotten the mixture right or maybe just too impatient- very intricate hard to do.

I got a few back when I was in prison…

Not really, but I do have a smallpox scar on my left deltoid. Also, no holes other than the ones I was born with.

eeewwwwwwww

Just one hole in each ear, done by my mother (a doctor) with a surgical needle and thread when I was 7 (at my request). A chickenpox scar near my right hip that one doctor thought was an appendectomy scar! No tattoos to sag or droop with weight loss/gain. Thought of “Lydia, the Tattooed Lady,” the Groucho Marx song: “When her muscles start relaxin’, up the hill comes Andrew Jackson.”

There is a great line in the movie, “Wedding Crashers.” Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are at a wedding and commenting on the potential women for conquest. Vince spots a woman bending over with an exposed tatoo in the small of her back, leans over to Owen Wilson and says, “tatoo on the lower back, might as well be a bullseye!” I got a great laugh out of that one.

Lukester~

S says that’s the funniest movie he’s ever seen…lol ~berurah

No tattoos. Tattoos are the fashion fad of the moment. I don’t want to be stuck wearing some skin fad decades after it has gone out of style any more than I would like to be forced to still be wearing my old high school clothing fashions from the 60s.

Actually, I don’t like most forms of self-mutilation: tattoos, weird piercings, implants, etc. If you feel an absolute need to make an outrageous style statement with your body, do it with your hair. Hair can grow out when you change your mind. You’ll thank yourself for it later.

ITA with this statement, coureur. I have been (hopefully successfully) brainwashing my kids regarding this since they were tiny lol. So far, so good, but who knows what the future will bring…maybe they’ll watch that funny SNL commercial for tatoo removal that shows the tatoo rapidly changing shape with the body’s aging!! Eeeeeek!
