<p>Totally off all topics: Parents, do you have tatoos? Of what? Where on your body? When did you get it (recently or back in your youth)?</p>
<p>I have a peace sign tatoo on my upper arm - got it about a year ago. All through the VN war, I wore a peace-symbol pin, so when the latest war came up, I decided to make it permanent.</p>

<p>I don’t but wish I did…but I have a relatively rare blood type, and I would have to give up donating blood for a year if I got one. Seems a little bit too selfish just for the chance for some body art. DH has a tattoo of the USMC insignia and my name on his arm; he got it when he was stationed away from home for a three-year period. Biggest faux pas of my married life was not noticing the tattoo until he had been home for more than two weeks…I got out of the doghouse by telling him that I hadn’t been paying attention to his <em>arms</em> ;)</p>
<p>I have a heart with an arrow through it and a “W” in the center tattooed on my right shoulder blade. It only shows when I work out, go to the beach, or attend formal GOP fundraisers.</p>

<p>I have two tattoos which I got about 5 years ago when I was in my late 40s. My daughter was checking into getting some, and I got interested. This was a huge deal, since I HATE needles. I did really well, and the pain was very mild. One tattoo is a Christian fish on my left ankle. The really cool one is a mountain scene (mountain, sun, river) on my left forearm. At the time, I was at a job that I never expected to leave. They were used to me being a little “different”. Whoops- I left the job and was interviewing for General Counsel positions wearing long sleeves! Fortunately, in the last few years tattoos have become much more mainstream.</p>
<p>I’ve been thinking about getting one, but haven’t taken the plunge yet. Mostly because I haven’t fallen in love with a design that I wouldn’t get tired of, I think.</p>
<p>I did, however, have my navel pierced after losing 30 pounds just before turning 50 a few years ago. I love it.</p>

<p>Now <em>here</em> is the thread which separates the _____________ from the ________________! I just don’t know how to fill in the blanks. Unlike, Alu and soozie, I didn’t need to check. I already knew there were none there; I even waited until I was almost 30 to have the ears pierced.</p>

<p>jmmom, I also got my ears pierced later than just about everyone else on the planet! I was around 25. My soon to be H at the time carried me in to a store to have them pierced. Yes, he did buy some nice earings after he insisted that I put holes in my ears.</p>
<p>No to the tatoos, I am too boring, I guess. My kids enjoy the temporary 2 week tatoos- it signals that they are on vacation b/c they do not go to school with tatoos.</p>
<p>I guess we are a boring lot. I only have pierced ears, just one hole per ear. No tatoos. My girls? Same thing. I guess our true colors are getting known more and more on CC. So, let me get this straight…now I belong to the “unclassifieds” (what did we call that cllub earlier?) on CC and now the non-tattooed, only one hole per ear, no other piercings club. Soon, you’re gonna know just everything about me!

<p>When I was nine years old I had an unfortunate accident with my protractor while bored :eek:, I intentionally rubbed ink into the wound on my finger to see if would become a tattoo, it did. Does it count? :p</p>
<p>I am no fun I admit it. I think tattoos look silly unless they’re on a young person; to me it’s kind of like a 50 year old man with a pony tail or a pierced ear. But I think I secretly admire them (just a little).</p>
<p>Exceptions to above: older men with war or mom tattoos. That’s cool.</p>

<p>No tattoos… but I had a Condi Rice for President sticker on my car and someone bashed my window because of it. That’s as wild as my life gets. :-)</p>
